Dominique Bernard should not have died. Lola shouldn’t have died. Thomas should not have died. Matthis should not have died. Philippine should not have died. Their names are lost in our minds, and all we have left are our tears to cry. A duty falls upon us: to preserve them in our memories so that they do not die in vain. They did not sacrifice themselves: they were killed; and for this, they deserve the status of martyrs.
