Temu and its low prices have already attracted ten million users in France and 75 million across Europe. Six months ago, the application was even the most downloaded. It is the 13th non-food brand where the French spend the most. But today, consumer associations are denouncing the means used to achieve this success. The first criticism is linked to the lack of traceability. The platform is also accused of manipulation. Build customer loyalty or even get them hooked with fake countdowns to take advantage of promotions, constant alerts and even games. A complaint was filed this Thursday against the platform by 17 European consumer associations. For his part, Temu replied “Regarding the complaint, we attach great importance to it and will study it with the greatest intention.” The platform is already in the sights of an American analysis firm accused of spying on its users’ data.
