(APS) – Agents of the Mbour FM community radio expressed their sadness and regret following the death, this Sunday, of their director, journalist Issa Dior Sall, whom they considered as a “monument and a reference”, in the exercise of the profession of journalism in Senegal. ”This is news that shocked us all. The news fell suddenly, upsetting all the staff of Mbour FM radio, friends and relatives,” Mbour FM deputy director Mouhamed Djamil Ndour told APS. According to him, the deceased was “a mentor and a reference. It is a monument of the Senegalese press which has passed away.”

”We continued the program today, despite the sad news, in accordance with its directives. She always said + even if I am no longer here + the radio must continue to broadcast,” added Mr. Ndour. Aliou Ba, host of the show ”Leral” on Mbour FM radio, says he knew Isseu Dior Sall, in the exercise of his profession as a reporter. “She respected her job and she did it as correctly as possible,” he testified. ”She was a great lady. She was very committed and had a love of the profession she did,” he further underlined.

Issa Dior Sall worked at private radio Sud FM, before opening radio Mbour FM in 2010 with partners. The deceased was buried early in the afternoon in the HLM Muslim cemetery.
