Hezbollah threatens Israel with further attacks if its offensive in Lebanon continues

Lebanese Hezbollah on Monday threatened Israel with further attacks if its offensive in Lebanon continues, after a drone strike targeting a military position in Haifa killed at least four Israeli soldiers.

In a statement, Hezbollah said that “the resistance (…) promise to the enemy » that the attack “south of Haifa is just a taste of what awaits him if he decides to continue his attacks against our people”.

On Sunday evening, Hezbollah claimed that its fighters had launched “a squadron of explosive drones at a Golani brigade training camp in Binyamina, south of Haifa”dedicating this attack to its leader Hassan Nasrallah, assassinated on September 27 in an Israeli strike near Beirut.

The attack, which the Israeli army said killed four soldiers and seriously injured seven others near Israel’s main northern city, was the deadliest in Israel since the country entered into open war against the Hezbollah on September 23.

In its press release Monday, Hezbollah welcomes a “complex operation”. He explained that he had simultaneously launched dozens of missiles on various targets in the Nahariya and Acre regions with the aim of “distract Israeli air defense systems”.

Some drones, some of which have been used “for the first time”were launched towards different sectors of Acre and Haifa and “managed to bypass anti-aircraft radars and reach their target in a training camp of the Golani brigade”depending on the movement.

Drones have “exploded in rooms where dozens of Israeli enemy officers and soldiers were preparing to participate in the attack on Lebanon”adds Hezbollah.

Hezbollah indicated on Sunday evening that this attack was a “response to Zionist attacks, in particular on the neighborhoods of Noueiri and Basta” in the heart of Beirut, where at least twenty-two people were killed on Thursday, as well as in “other Lebanese regions”where more than 1,300 people have died since the start of the massive Israeli strike campaign on September 23.

Hezbollah has regularly fired rockets and drones into Israel for more than a year, but is now aiming deeper since the conflict escalated last month.

On October 11, air alert sirens sounded in central Israel after the entry of two drones from Lebanon. At least one building north of Tel Aviv was damaged in the incident.
