The 39th Hyères Fashion and Photography Festival has revealed its winners. After months of mentoring and days of competition, Dolev Elron for fashion, Arhant Shrestha for Photography and Chiyang Duan were distinguished, among other young talents to be discovered.

There were 10 of them competing for the Fashion Grand Prix. And this October 13 under the Hyères sun, a winner was crowned. It’s about the creator Dolev Elronwhich received the Première Vision Jury Grand Prize. The Villa Noailles, and its fashion jury chaired by Nicolas di Felice this year, were marked by the passage of jeans and shirts twisted using digital tools by this young Israeli. A psychedelic, distorted rereading of the “codes of hypermasculinity” such as the cowboy and biker archetypes. He currently works as an assistant designer for the men’s line at Acne Studios.

The 19M Métiers d’Arts prize and the L’Ateliers des Matières prize both go to the Belgian Romain Bichot for its “Call me if you get lost” collection exploring an urban nocturnal universe with a lot of trompe l’oeil. The Mercedes-Benz Eco-Responsible Collection Award was awarded to the Texan Logan Monroe Goffwho drew inspiration from his roots for a collection borrowing from the motorcycle sector. The special mention goes to Tal Maslavi for an experimental and sensitive collection using chocolate.

Hyères 2024: the photo and video winners

The competition reserved for accessories, chaired this year by the Artistic Director of Camper, Achilles Ion Gabriel, also awarded its Grand Prize. It returns to the Chinese based in London Chiyang Duanwho, like Dolev Elron, was interested in distortion, to produce glasses made of technical details borrowed from the London Underground. Hermès Fashion Accessories Prize was awarded to Clara Besnardwho presented a collection of hypnotic upcycled glasses and a remarkable accessory in the shape of a horse’s head on behalf of the leather goods house. Finally, the Special Prize was awarded to Camille Combremont for its “Bivouac” collection, with a gorpcore feel.

On the photography side, the jury chaired by the Spanish artist Coco Capitan awarded its 7L Photography Grand Jury Prize to Arhant Shrestha, originally from Kathmandu. The American Vintage Photography Prize was awarded to Basile Pelletier and the Special Mention to Thomas Duffield.
