Three months to the day after the flame passed through Neuville-aux-Bois, the municipality decided to thank all the volunteers who participated in this exceptional day, Thursday October 10, in the village hall.
Three months to the day after the passing of the Olympic flame in Neuville, the municipality invited all the volunteers who participated in the event. Thursday, at the village hall, Mayor Patrick Hardouin thanked the associations which organized activities linked to their sport or made paper flowers; schoolchildren for their guard of honor at the stadium; but also patrons, elected officials and municipal staff. Farmers who lent land to create temporary parking lots have not been forgotten.
The mayor recalled the six months preceding the passage of the flame, the numerous events and the meetings with the athletes. The Olympus statue has found its final place on the town hall square, and the silhouettes which animated the summer will be placed, among other places, on the athletics track.
