The president of the Engagés, Maxime Prévot, was ambitious when going to vote late Sunday morning in Dave (Namur). He hopes to see his party gain ground in Wallonia and Brussels to even better embody his “renewal” project.

“We would like to increase our number of mayors, participation in local majorities and more generally of agents throughout the French-speaking area,” declared the man who has also been mayor of Namur since 2012. “We hope to be able to even better embody this renewal project that we presented with Les Engagés and which enjoyed great confidence last June.”

If pre-election surveys indicated that Les Engagés could continue their rise in power in Wallonia and Brussels, the party president does not want to rely on it. “It’s never a good help. Either they are too supportive and it increases confidence a little too much, or they are unfavorable and it undermines morale,” he commented on this subject. “I therefore leave it to the fate and choice of citizens.”
