Paris – The speech delivered by His Majesty King Mohammed VI to Parliament at the opening of the autumn session is “a guarantee of stability and confidence” to all of the Kingdom’s partners, affirmed the French relations expert Euro-African, Guillaume Chaban Delmas.
“Today, at a time when areas of tension and conflict are multiplying across the four corners of the planet, the Royal Speech offers guarantees of stability and confidence to all of the Kingdom’s partners, including France which was largely cited in the Speech,” underlined the French expert in a statement to MAP.
The “salutary” speech of the Sovereign also allows “to have an intact, renewed and powerful ambition” regarding the question of the Moroccan Sahara, a “central” and “vital” subject for Morocco, observed Mr. Delmas, recalling the important place granted by HM the King’s Speech to France following its support for the Moroccan autonomy plan as “the only basis” for the settlement of the artificial dispute around the Moroccan Sahara.
He also highlighted the royal strategy “of coherence, ambition and power” which “does not date from yesterday” concerning the Sahara question.
“I think that this support is felt in the same way among Morocco’s other European partners, who, before France had already expressed their support for the plan presented by Morocco as being the only option, in particular Spain which has weight important in this matter,” he continued.
Mr. Chaban Delmas further noted that the Royal Speech before Parliament “further reinforces this momentum of Morocco which is increasingly establishing itself as a first-rate power and which promotes stability in the region with the “the importance that the Sovereign has always given to the Sahel and the Sahara in His vision since His Speech to the African Union”.
