Holder of a Master’s degree in international law, I realized at the end of my university career that it was important to evolve in a field that you appreciate. Overnight, I decided to put an end to my parents’ dream, who saw in me a future lawyer, to make a living from my passion: sport. Since then, I have covered transfer windows and sports news, trying to keep readers informed as best as possible.

Today a columnist for La Chaîne L’Equipe, Djibril Cissé saw his son make his professional debut, in the fourth English division. At 18 years old, Cassius Cissé still has a long way to go before following in his father’s footsteps. On the other hand, it is not certain that he will decide to opt for the French selection because of his numerous origins.

A well-known name has alerted many English fans, including Liverpool. At 18, a certain Cassius Cissé made his professional debut with Notts County FC facing Northampton in the fourth division. He is none other than the son of Djibril Cissé, former French international and former Liverpool, Sunderland and the Queens Park Rangers during his career.

Cissé will have a choice to make

Cassius Cissé has just written the first pages of its story. The questions surrounding his sporting nationality are still distant, but could become a real subject since the player is likely to play for five selections as his father explained in November 2023.

He is spoiled for choice

« He has several nationalities, his mother is Welsh, he himself was born in England, his father who I am is French of Ivorian origin, his grandfather Mangué Cissé is Guinean. He really has a range of choices. He will choose the selection that suits him » confided Djibril Cissé. Cassius holds the key to his destiny.
