Character against Morocco (4-3)

The U20 national selection won hard against Morocco (4-3, photo) in a friendly, Friday October 11, in Clairefontaine. The two nations meet again on Monday.

The French U20s continue their victorious journey at the start of the season. By beating Morocco 4 to 3 late Friday afternoon at CNF Clairefontaine (), in a friendly match, they added a success to the two won in September at the same place against Switzerland (5-3 and 2-1 ). They will aim for the four next Monday during the second round scheduled against their Moroccan counterparts (3:00 p.m.).

These various meetings are part of their preparation for the final phase of the 2025 U20 World Cup scheduled in Chile (dates to be fixed).

THE MATCH

Bernard Diomède’s players sought this victory through force of character, because they were behind several times before snatching the decision at the end of the game. The Moroccans took the lead at the break thanks to a double from El Haddad Saad (0-1, 14th and 1-2, 45th), despite an equalizer from striker Steve Ngoura (1-1, 30th). They even took off in the 58th minute through Gessime Yassine (1-3) before seeing the Bleuets return to their level in a few moments, through the same Ngoura, unleashed (2-3, 59th and 3-3, 62nd). It was ultimately a penalty, converted by Dehmaine Tabibou Assoumani, the FC midfielder, which allowed his team to win at the wire…
