The presidency of the government majority held its ordinary meeting, under the presidency of Aziz Akhannouch, president of the National Rally of Independents (RNI), Fatima Zahra Mansouri, coordinator of the collegial leadership of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM), and Nizar Baraka , general secretary of the Istiqlal Party. The Majority notably expressed its categorical rejection of the decision of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) concerning the agricultural and fishing agreements between Morocco and the European Union.

The agenda of this meeting, which was also attended by Rachid Talbi Alami and Mohamed Mehdi Bensaïd, focused on political, economic and social developments in the country, as well as certain international issues. Mechanisms aimed at strengthening cooperation between the government and all components of the majority were also discussed, with the aim of meeting future challenges and guaranteeing the success of the future challenges that await our country.

After serious, objective and in-depth debates, marked by a common sense of political responsibility and consideration of internal challenges, the presidency of the government majority, while reaffirming the need to continue structural reforms and consolidate the bases of the social state under the leadership of King Mohammed VI.

Firstly, the Majority expressed its categorical rejection of the recent decision of the Court of Justice of the European Union concerning the agricultural and fishing agreements between Morocco and the European Union. In this sense, she considered that “the judgment, lacking insight and legal neutrality, does not reflect reality. The question of Morocco’s territorial integrity falls exclusively within the competence of the United Nations and the Security Council.

“Morocco’s sovereignty over its southern provinces is not subject to any form of bargaining or compromise,” affirmed the majority, which reiterated its support for the firm position of the Moroccan state, refusing any agreement or legal document that does not respect this territorial unity.

On another note, she strongly condemned the war waged by Israel against the Palestinian people, which cost the lives of thousands of civilians, mainly women and children, and led to a massive forced exodus and large-scale destruction. , calling for an immediate end to hostilities and the resumption of diplomatic negotiations to put an end to this bloodbath.

“Peace and stability in the region can only be achieved through a two-state solution, with Gaza as an integral part of an independent, sovereign and viable Palestine, with East Jerusalem as its capital,” she argued.

The Majority further welcomed the rapid and effective efforts of the government to implement its program and public policies, while facing challenges and natural disasters, including the aftermath of the Al Haouz and recent flooding in the southeast. “More than 2.7 billion dirhams have been allocated for the rehabilitation program for disaster areas and for financial assistance to affected residents,” she recalled in this regard.

In the same vein, she welcomed the government’s commitment to the social state project, particularly in the areas of the generalization of medical coverage, housing and health. “The government continues to strive to reform education, with the aim of making public schools attractive and training talents for the future. It is also attentive to revaluing the teaching staff, as reflected in the results of social discussions”she stressed.

Furthermore, and while recognizing the importance of the fight against inflation, aggravated over the last two years by external factors, the Majority noted that “Despite these difficulties, the government has taken concrete measures, such as providing direct subsidies to families and maintaining the stability of prices for certain services such as water and electricity.”

She also greeted “cohesion within the governmental majority, which allowed smooth implementation of the commitments made, while remaining responsive to emerging challenges, in accordance with the budgetary principles established to ensure the sustainability of the financing of social projects”, renewing its commitment to participate fully in public discussions on the country’s major issues, respecting the plurality of opinions and remaining faithful to the search for practical solutions for future challenges.

She also praised the role of the parliamentary opposition, which “contributes to the enrichment of public debate and the exercise of the legislative and control function, thus strengthening the role of Parliament as a key democratic institution in our country”.

Note that at the start of its meeting, the Majority paid tribute to the memory of the late Hassan II, on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of his death, praying to the Almighty to welcome him to his vast paradise, to grant him mercy and protect his successor, King Mohammed VI, may He guide his steps for the prosperity of the Kingdom.
