The department had been placed on yellow vigilance, then faced with more pessimistic forecasts, Météo France ended up placing the Oise on Orange vigilance in the face of rain and the risk of flooding. These heavy rains which fell throughout the day on Wednesday October 9 lasted until the middle of the night. Orange vigilance was maintained until 2 a.m.
69 interventions in the department
For its part, the Oise Departmental Fire and Rescue Service mentions this Thursday, October 10, 69 interventions in the department, mainly in the south of the Oise. This corresponds to Météo France forecasts which suggested a Senlis-Compiègne line, to the south of which the heaviest precipitation was expected.
Flooded streets and roads
On social networks, Internet users widely shared their photos of the floods:
- A Eve : the floods were particularly impressive. The road linking the town to that of Plessis-Belleville was flooded. It was cut off to traffic during the night. Internet users even report that several vehicles were submerged during the night.
- A Lagny-le-Sec : Among the damage noted on the evening of Wednesday October 9, Laigneville civil security had to manage the fall of a tree on Rue de la Liberté. This took place around 9 p.m. and also damaged the roadway. It took rescuers less than an hour to clear the way. During this time, alternating traffic has been set up. Mayor Christophe Dietrich, the gendarmerie and technical services were also on site.
- Still in Lagny-le-Sec: The parking lot of the Grand Frais supermarket was covered by water. As evidenced by these photos published on social networks, on the morning of Thursday October 10.
- A Neufchelles : Internet users filmed the streets of the town. We can see the roadway largely invaded by water, causing a significant slowdown in traffic.
- A Gilocourt : Still on social networks, Internet users shared photos of their flooded streets and roads. In Gilocourt, rue de la Libération was still under water (photo opposite) this Thursday, October 10.
Elsewhere in the department, the disruptions were less. HAS Guiscardthe water has risen. But the town was relatively spared. Flooding was observed on rue de Buchoire, but only gardens were affected.
