The work of justice continues after Philippine’s murder. Invited on the BFMTV set this Thursday, October 10, the Minister of Justice Didier Migaud
announced to have “formula” the extradition request for Taha O., main suspect in the murder of the young Filipina in the Bois de Boulogne, this Wednesday. “It was made”, indicated the Minister of Justice. “France will, of course, insist that this person be tried in France.”
Taha O., 22 years old and of Moroccan nationality, was arrested on September 23 at the Geneva station, in Switzerland. Already sentenced to seven years of imprisonment in 2021 for a rape committed in 2019 when he was a minor, he was released in June 2024. Since then, he was under obligation to leave French territory (OQTF)but the request for a pass to Morocco, issued three times on June 18, July 16 then August 27, 2024, was slow to obtain a response.
Taha O.’s DNA discovered at crime scene
According to the elements of the investigation revealed to the public,
Taha O.’s partial DNA was reportedly discovered at the crime scene. In addition, his cell phone would have been located in the same area as Philippine’s during the same time slot, all elements which make him an extremely serious suspect. It is unknown whether or not he has admitted the facts since his placement in pre-trial detention in Switzerland.
Philippine, a 19-year-old student, was found dead on September 21 in the Bois de Boulogne. She had been seen for the last time the day before, while she was having lunch in the canteen of Paris-Dauphine University. After geolocating her cell phone in the Bois de Boulogne area, her relatives organized a citizen search, which led to the discovery of Philippine’s partially buried body on the evening of September 21.
The teenager raped then asphyxiated
According to the autopsy report, Philippine died of asphyxiation without strangulation after being raped.
His funeral took place on September 27 at Saint-Louis Cathedral, in Versailles. More than 2,800 people attended, including a thousand on the square.
