Rumors have been circulating in recent days about future GeForce RTX 50 to architecture Blackwell of NVIDIAthe formalization of which is expected as a reminder in January 2025, during the unmissable CES in Las Vegas. We therefore offered you just yesterday, October 9, 2024, two pieces of news in quick succession on their subject, the first further specifying the probable characteristics of the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080, while the second put forward the hypothesis of a launch of the RTX 5070 very close to that of its big sisters, accompanied by some data about it. This time we change the theme regarding these three cards to discuss the first rumor which has just appeared on the thorny question of the price of these future cards. We probably all suspected it, but it could well be that all previous records will be shattered…
In his video released this very morning, Tom from the Moore’s Law is Dead channel explains that he was able to speak with “one of his most reliable sources”, who would have attended an NVIDIA briefing concerning the future GeForce RTX 50. During this briefing, for the first time, NVIDIA would have mentioned sales price ranges for its future cards:

So obviously this is the very first rumor on this subject, with very wide price ranges, so we have to keep our distance from this first rumor. The MLID source itself specifies that NVIDIA could just be testing the waters with its partners and seeing their reactions to these prices, or quite simply still being in the process of thinking and ultimately only giving its first projections. It’s not rare anyway, we’ve had it several times over the last few years of hardware, at prices changed just a few days before an official launch…
Still, this first rumor will certainly not reassure those who were still hoping for a miracle. A GeForce RTX 5090 around €2,500 including tax, an RTX 5080 around €1,500 and an RTX 5070 hovering around €700 even though it only has 12 GB of VRAM, some people will lose their minds if these price ranges were to be confirmed. NVIDIA would have to reassure in the tests, and display first-rate performance in order to prove that 12 or 16 GB are still more than sufficient in 2025, even on graphics cards at such prices.
