Valentine. A day to go back in time with the artisans

The town of Valentine experienced a memorable day, immersed in a bygone time. Local artisans gathered in the village square, ready to introduce younger generations to the know-how of yesteryear. Among them, the wool spinner, who, after having carefully carded her wool, spun with a distaff to create magnificent balls. Not far away, the carpenter carved the wood with passion, bringing out delicate silhouettes. The painter, dressed in his white apron and beret, was absorbed by his easel, letting his brushes slide to bring his masterpiece to life.

Sculpture workshops invited visitors to shape the earth, offering a tactile and creative experience. The culinary artisans, for their part, delighted the taste buds with their delights: honey, jams, pancakes and waffles perfumed the air with their sweet aromas. The streets were sometimes crowded with parades of old vehicles and tractors, witnesses of a rich past. A horse-drawn carriage offered picturesque rides, while the colorful and joyful rides attracted children in search of thrills. The Patou sheepdogs were also a sensation, performing impressive demonstrations to herd the sheep. This day, bathed in a gentle late-season sun, allowed 350 tasty meals to be served, thus satisfying the gourmets present. Valentine knew how to celebrate its heritage with warmth and conviviality, creating unforgettable memories for everyone.
