Top scorer in Ligue 1 after seven days, Bradley Barcola is nominated for the UNFP player of the month trophy for September. An individual distinction that the Parisian striker has never won before.

The UNFP Player of the Month awards are back. Not awarded in August, since there were only two days on the menu, the UNFP chose three players for the trophy for best player of the month of September. And the current top scorer in Ligue 1 Bradley Barcola (6 goals) is one of the three named, along with Canadian LOSC scorer Jonathan David and the English striker from OM Mason Greenwood.

Barcola in competition with David and Greenwood

Author of three goals in August against and , Bradley Barcola scored three more in September. A little win in during PSG’s 3-1 victory and a double against on September 27, with another 3-1 victory for PSG. Barcola also played two other matches in September against (1-1) and (3-1 victory for PSG). Two matches missed by the Parisian winger.

But Bradley Barcola has every chance for the September trophy since his competitor Mason Greenwood was not decisive once during the three matches played by OM in September. Jonathan David scored a hat-trick against Le Havre and scored against in September, but he remained silent when he came into play against PSG then ASSE.

Note that Barcola has never won this individual distinction since the start of his career. Since its creation in 2003, this UNFP player of the month trophy has gone to a PSG player 48 times, a record. The only one to have won it three months in a row is a former Parisian, a certain Zlatan Ibrahimovic (January, February and March 2014) while Kylian Mbappé holds the record for the number of trophies of the month (11, including 10 in the jersey of PSG).

You have until October 13, 12:00 a.m. to vote for the player of the month. To support Bradley Barcola, click here.
