(Re)discover the history and personal and political life of an important personality from the revolutionary and Bonapartist periods, this Thursday, October 10: Théophile Berlier.

Deputy for Côte-d’Or, member of the Committee of Public Safety and president of the National Convention and the Council of Five Hundred during the revolutionary period, drafter of the civil code, made count of the empire and secretary general of the provisional government during the Hundred Days; the Dijonnais Théophile Berlier knew how, like Napoleon Bonaparte and Talleyrand, to cross regimes and political periods.

To (re)discover the history of the Dijon politician, the city is planning several events this Thursday, October 10. A lunch at the Museum of Fine Arts is organized at 12:30 p.m. with Hubert de Vauplane, lawyer, professor at Sciences Po and author of a biography on the jurisconsult. He will sign his book at the Museum of Fine Arts shop at 4:30 p.m., before holding a conference at 5:30 p.m., as part of the Society of Friends of Museums, in the conference room of the Colette Library.

Practical information

Entrance to the Musée du Midi is free, but requires registration (follow the link). Participation in the conference costs €5 (free for members of the Society of Friends of the Museums), but does not require prior reservation.
