INTERVIEW – Team bronze medalist this summer, the French foil fencer took the time to talk to Le Figaro about his post-Olympic days.

Rafael Nadal, Neymar, Gaël Monfils… There is no shortage of examples of great athletes regularly enjoying a game of poker. At the beginning of October, fencer Maxime Pauty (31 years old) was invited by PokerStars to participate in the edition of the Poker Series which was held at the Casino Grand Cercle in Aix-Les-Bains. A way for him to land softly after a crazy Olympic summer, marked by a team bronze medal in foil and an elimination in the individual quarter-finals despite a legendary victory in the round of 16 against world number 1, Tommaso Marini. The opportunity, also, to discuss with him his experience at the Grand Palais, the turmoil within his discipline and, therefore, his passion for squares and other straight flushes.
