The department of Isère wakes up to the downpours. As announced by Météo which placed 11 departments in vigilance orange for a risk of flooding, heavy precipitation falls on a large part of eastern France.

Isère is also placed on yellow alert for the risk of flooding and violent storms.

Certain sectors near Grenoble are more affected by the bad weather on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. Here are the forecasts for the next few hours.

Three risk areas

According to forecasts from the official meteorology and climatology service in France, the north of the departmentthe Oisans sector and theGrenoble urban areaare the sectors expected to be most affected by flooding.

In the Écrins and Oisans massifs, intense precipitation is expected to rise from the south and also generate heavy accumulations, of the order of 60-80 mm, locally 100 mm by the end of the night and into the morning of Tuesday .

Significant rainfall accumulations of around 70 to 90 mm are expected by the end of Tuesday. As for rivers at risk, Vigicrue indicates that only the Romansh downstream of Grenoble could emerge from its bed.

Note that the orange vigilance issued by Météo France will be lifted this Tuesday at 2 p.m.

A lull expected

Wednesday and Thursday will be marked by milder weather conditions.

Bright sunshine is forecast with a few showers possible locally.
