Renault unveils the prices of its more affordable R5 Evolution and Five

At the start of October, we were finally able to try the new Renault 5 electric. Renault let us take the wheel in its top-of-the-range Iconiq Cinq version equipped with the most powerful motor-battery combo with 150 hp and 52 gross kWh. It is also with this duo and two high-end finishes Techno and Iconic Cinq that it was offered in the catalog from spring. The other, more accessible variants have just been made official.

During the tests, Renault revealed the range and prices of its model. If we already had an idea of the different finishes and engines, the prices were still unknown. From now on, we know at what price the R5 will be sold in its more affordable versions, such as the entry-level Evolution finish from the end of 2024. This is equipped with “Disco” hubcaps of 18 ”, automatic air conditioning, a 10.1” central screen with OpenR interface (without Google or route planner) and Android Auto / Apple CarPlay, cruise control, reversing sensors, access and hands-free starting, a heat pump or even 10” digital meters. It starts from €27,990 (excluding bonus) with the 120 hp electric motor and a “small” 40 kWh battery. With this configuration called “urban autonomy”, the R5 could reach up to 312 km according to the WLTP cycle, instead of 410 km for the “comfort autonomy” version of 52 kWh.

Entry level at €25,000 for spring 2025

An Evolution version equipped with the 150 hp engine and the largest battery is also planned, from spring 2025. This is also when the Renault 5 Five will enter the scene, in homage to the Super cinq of 1980s. This entry-level variant, equipped with an electric motor deflated to 95 hp and a 40 kWh battery, should start under €25,000 excluding bonuses according to Renault. But be careful, it will be confined to the city with an 11 kW (AC) charger, since the Losange has chosen not to integrate a fast charging function, unlike other versions up to 100 kW in DC.

Note that the 120 hp and 40 kWh battery version is also offered with the high Techno and Iconiq Cinq finishes. The first starts at €29,990 and the second requires €31,990, or €3,500 less than the 150 hp variant. Finally, special series called Collection will be offered each year to complete the range, such as the Roland Garros scheduled for 2025.
