This is one of the new parameters of the post-Covid world: teleworking, at least partial, is now a reality shared by many employees. In Australia, it concerns 37% of the working population, compared to less than 25% before the pandemic. A new situation which has reshuffled the balance between private and professional life, but which also represents a major gain in terms of purchasing power.

According to data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics comparing transport spending (fuel, tolls, public transport) in 2019 and subsequent years, nearly 52 billion euros in cumulative savings were made. Australians have achieved by avoiding commuting. In New South Wales, where Sydney is located, spending on public transport reached 8.5 billion euros in 2019.
