Ferdinand Habsburg considers return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, six weeks after his accident at Motorland Aragon
The Austrian, who suffered an accident during testing by the Alpine Endurance Team at the end of March in Spain, fractured two vertebrae. After more than a month of convalescence, he gives reassuring news.
In a video published on April 5, the Alpine Hypercar driver now appears without a corset, visibly undergoing physical rehabilitation. “I just started strength training and conditioning to make sure I get back into shape for Le Mans,” Habsburg said. “It’s very strange not to be at Spa this weekend with my Alpine team. My heart is with them. My best wishes are with them, with my teammates, Paul-Loup and Charles. Of course, Jules is there too.”
“It’s a strange situation to not be able to control the speed of your healing, but it’s reality. I’m making sure that when I get the opportunity to get back in a race car and do what I love, I’ll be there 100% and better than before the accident. Thank you all for your messages. Good luck at Alpine this weekend.”
After missing the 6 Hours of Imola, the driver of the No. 35 Alpine A424 is also forced to give up his place to Jules Gounon for the 6 Hours of Spa this weekend.
