Tehran has already prepared its response plan in the event that Israel carries out an attack on Iranian territory, local media reported Sunday, citing a military source.
On Tuesday evening, the Islamic Republic launched 200 missiles towards Israel, in its second direct attack against its archenemy, following missile and drone strikes in April. The Islamic Republic had indicated that its attack was a retaliation measure for the assassinations in Lebanon of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and a major Iranian general, Abbas Nilforoushan, killed by an Israeli strike on September 27.
Iran ‘has a list of numerous Israeli targets’
Israel says it is preparing a response to the Iranian missile attack. “The draft necessary response to a possible action by the Zionists is completely ready, and if Israel acts, the Iranian counterattack will be implemented,” the Tasnim agency said on Sunday, citing a military source.
Iran “has a list of many Israeli targets”, and Tuesday’s operation “showed that we can raze any point we want”, added the same source. The day before, the head of Iranian diplomacy Abbas Araghchi warned that “for every action, there will be a proportional and similar reaction from Iran, and even stronger”.
