OL (3-4): Lacazette as boss

During OL’s stunning success against LOSC (3-4), Alexandre Lacazette once again proved decisive by being a passer then a scorer.

A goal, an assist. As in front ofAS Monaco (3-2), Alexander Lacazette once again, shone brightly on Monday against Lille (3-4). However, like the whole team, the 32-year-old striker was not on his feet in the first half. The captain of theOL showed too little presence and not enough impact before returning to the locker room. Note, however, that he was not the best served with Ernest Nuamah and Said Benrahma, not technically accurate enough. We also saw him procrastinating in the area, which is not his habit.

But after the break, Lacazette and his partners returned to the front with new arguments. Which allowed him to deliver an offering to the Algerian international for Lyon’s first goal (65th). While his team was still chasing the score in the 85th minute of play, the Rhone center forward managed to put the two teams on the same footing on the scoreboard, ideally found by Ainsley Maitland-Niles (3-3, 87th). A brown of hope which then allowed Mama Balde to seal the match in added time (90th+2).

Always at the service of his team

A new achievement which places the attacker as Lyon’s top scorer during an opposition against LOSC (10). But not only. Having found the net for the 17th time this season, Gone equals Lille Jonathan David in the ranking of the most prolific gunners in Ligue 1 (second, behind Mbappé, 26 goals). A true leader in the squad, Lacazette also showed it through his attitude throughout the second part of the season.

The 17 goals scored by Alexandre Lacazette in the elite on this exercise allowed theOL to glean 19 points in total (at least six more than any other player for his team). With two yellow cards already accumulated, the former Gunner will have to hold his own in view of the biggest Lyon deadline of this end of the season. In the event of a warning during the opposition to Clermont (Sunday), he will not be present to play the Coupe de France final against PSG (May 25).
