“Sharing the road means living together”

Under a bright sky bathed in sunshine, the first edition of the Heroes’ Ride, organized by the Team Progress club, brought together, yesterday, in Bailleau-le-Pin, children, parents and cycling enthusiasts for a morning full of discoveries and in apprenticeships.

At the origin of this initiative, Gérôme Toloni, founder of the club based in Bailleau-le-Pin, has once again been able to mobilize his community around the values that are close to his heart: conviviality, mutual aid and safety.

Team Progress, much more than a simple cycling club, is a true community of enthusiasts. “Each bike ride is an opportunity to explore new landscapes, build relationships, and share authentic moments,” says Gérôme Toloni.

The Walk of Heroes, for its part, had a very specific objective: to raise awareness among young people about road safety. At a time when road accidents involving children are still too frequent, Gérôme Toloni and his team wanted to make an impact. “Sharing the road is living together,” was the message of the day. The children, aged 6 to 15, cycled a 15 km circuit around Bailleau-le-Pin, under the supervision of Team Progress riders.

Initially, around ten children were expected, but given the enthusiasm generated by the event, seventeen young cyclists finally took the start. A source of pride for Gérôme Toloni and his entire team, who see this as an encouraging sign for future editions. “It’s a real test for us, but we hope to go even further next year,” he confides with a smile on his lips.

“It is essential that young people are aware of the dangers of the road”

The mayor of Bailleau-le-Pin, Martial Lochon, who started the walk, praised the initiative of Team Progress and the boundless energy of Gérôme Toloni: “As long as we can, we will always be at your side. sides. I wish you a wonderful safety educational morning. »

At the end of the walk, a moment of discussion was organized around a snack, allowing parents and organizers to review the concepts covered during the day. Road safety was at the heart of the discussions, with emphasis placed on sharing the road and being vigilant. “It is essential that young people learn to ride safely, and that they are aware of the dangers of the road,” insists Gérôme Toloni.

Team Progress continues to stand out not only for its passion for cycling, but also for its commitment to promoting values of respect and solidarity.

This first edition of the Walk of Heroes is proof of this: a club which, beyond performance, strives to offer moments of sharing and learning.

Gérôme Toloni and his team managed to transform a simple bike ride into a real life lesson, reminding us that, on the road as elsewhere, safety is everyone’s business.

good behavior

The event counted on strong partners, notably the Eure-et-Loir gendarmerie and the Sdis 28 (Departmental Fire and Rescue Service), with the presence of Colonel Lothe and Chief Warrant Officer Cyrille Laye. Their support ensured optimal safety throughout the route, as well as raising awareness among young people of good practices to adopt on the road.
