His passion for AS Monaco was born at the end of the 2000s, when the Rouge et Blanc won the Coupe de la Ligue in 2003. Twenty years later, Louis-Marie, originally from , still follows the Principality club very closely. Now a member of the Munegu da Viken supporters group, he shares his best memories with us. Meeting ????️

Hello Louis-Marie. I will first let you introduce yourself, tell us where you come from and how your passion for AS Monaco came about.

I come from Saint-Grégoire near Rennes and I have been a supporter of AS Monaco since 2003. This passion was born one night during the Coupe de la Ligue final against Sochaux. As soon as I saw Ludovic Giuly with a ball, I became a fan. My father is also a Monaco fan, but I only learned about it very recently, two years ago. One of my cousins also supports the Rouge et Blanc.

What are your first great memories with the Club?

I have an anecdote from the 2004 Champions League campaign, the day of the meeting between AS Monaco and Real Madrid. The players walked past me as they got off the pre-match bus. That day I saw Pierluigi Collina, and especially Ludovic Giuly, but I was stopped by security because my desire to take a photo with him was too great! We finally saw each other again 18 years later, one evening in Rennes – AS Monaco. He signed my photo, he was very surprised and very moved.

1 / 2

Are there any AS Monaco players that you saw at the stadium that made you dream?

Ludovic Giuly, Andreas Zikos, Flavio Roma, Fernando Morientes, Fabinho, Andrea Raggi, Danijel Subasic, Bernardo Silva. More recently, I really liked Kevin Volland, who reminded me of a player like Morientes with his way of playing and his fighting spirit.

What was your first match in the park?

It was – AS Monaco during the 2022-2023 season. It was during this period that I joined the Munegu da Viken. Parks began to be created and so did friendships. It has become a family, I have met friends with whom I share Monegasque memories, both in football and in basketball. They are really people I can confide in, talk to about everything. Even if I address the president or the vice-president, there is no embarrassment.

What is your most memorable memory in parking?

There are several, but the first always has a special flavor. Now, if I have to talk about my best memory, it wasn’t really in the yard, but right next to it. It was two years ago, I was invited by a Monegasque sponsor during Rennes – AS Monaco.

The Munegu da Viken were celebrating their 10th anniversary, there was an exceptional tifo! Even last year, still against Rennes, the communion between the yard and the players was memorable. Another memory, we went with the whole group to last year for the match against , there was a superb atmosphere.

What do you like about experiencing a match in the park?

It’s the atmosphere, the tifos, sharing our passion between supporters but also sharing a drink. I really like the songs “All the Weighing Loves You,” but I enjoy “Oh Monaco” as well. We know how to have fun while supporting a club, I have never experienced an overflow in the yard.

I will not be in the parking lot itself but in the area next to it, with my father as often. As with every trip to Rennes, I will take photos for the broadcast, this allows us to share and live the experience as best as possible.

Do you feel the same passion in front of a screen?

It depends on the matches. For some, we would like to be at the stadium, like for the match against Barcelona or the Centenary match. These are matches that make us vibrate even in front of the TV, they give us indescribable emotions.

Will you be in the yard on Saturday for the match?

I will not be in the parking lot itself but in the area next to it, with my father as often. As with every trip to Rennes, I will take photos for the broadcast, this allows us to share and live the experience as best as possible.

Do you have a prediction to make for the match?

Knowing that Rennes is not really in good shape at the moment, I would say 1-3 for our Monegasques with goals from Denis Zakaria, Folarin Balogun and George Ilenikhena. In any case, I hope that the Club will continue in this direction, to be as welcoming to the supporters and to have the best ambitions for the future.
