“This year, the succession of May 8 and the Ascension Bridge, as well as the closure of schools for five days will be conducive to a large number of trips throughout the metropolis. Significant traffic difficulties are expected on all major roads in the country,” announces Bison Futé, which has classified this Tuesday, May 7, as red at the national level in the direction of departures. He thus recommends, “ if possible, postpone your trip to avoid taking the road” that day. Traffic is indeed expected to be very difficult. And Île-de-France will not be spared.

“Significant traffic is expected towards the various toll gates, particularly on the A6 and A10 motorways. Congestion could be recorded there from late morning, as well as on the Boulevard Périphérique, the A86 and A6B motorways. These difficulties will be reinforced in the middle of the afternoon by the traffic generated by “work-home” journeys and will remain dense in the direction of departures until late in the evening. Furthermore, the A13 motorway being closed to traffic between Paris and Vaucresson, Ile-de-France motorists wishing to reach Normandy are advised to take the A14, the A15 or the N12,” explains Bison Futé, who recommends leave or cross Île-de-France before 12 p.m..

Traffic will be less busy this Wednesday, May 8. Bison Futé still classified the day in orange at the national level in the direction of departures. “In Île-de-France, traffic will be heavy on the A6 and A10 motorways from early in the morning. It is expected to intensify significantly from mid-morning, potentially making traffic on these highways complicated. The axes which converge on these motorways could also encounter traffic difficulties, in particular the N104 and the N118,” specifies Bison Futé. It is advisable to leave or cross Île-de-France before 7 a.m. and also to anticipate the closure of the A13 at the exit from Paris.

On the other hand, these Thursday May 9 and Friday May 10 are classified in green at the national level in the direction of departures and returns. Traffic will therefore be normal on these days.

Difficulties in the direction of returns on Saturday and Sunday in Île-de-France

The difficulties will resume this Saturday, May 11 in the direction of returns. The day is classified in orange at the national level. “In Île-de-France, traffic will be heavy from late morning on the A10 and A6 motorways. Traffic difficulties will be recorded throughout the afternoon and until late in the evening (mainly on the A10),” predicts Bison Futé. Motorists are invited to reach or cross Île-de-France before 3 p.m..

The difficulties will increase this Sunday, May 12. Bison Futé actually classified the day as red at the national level in the direction of departures. “In Île-de-France, from late morning, traffic will be heavy on the A10, A6 and A13 motorways. These traffic difficulties will be recorded throughout the afternoon and until late in the evening (mainly on the A10),” indicates Bison Futé, who suggests reach or cross Île-de-France before 12 p.m. Sunday.
