Nobel Prize announcements are scheduled from Monday October 7 to 14, 2024. Here is the schedule of Nobel Prize announcements for this year:
- Physiology or medicine: October 7
- Physics: October 8
- Chemistry: October 9
- Literature: October 10
- Peace: October 11
- Economics: October 14
Like every year, the awards ceremony will take place on December 10, the anniversary of Alfred Nobel’s death.
But will the Peace Prize be suspended? Regarding the 2024 Nobel Prize, the year 2024 was marked by several armed geopolitical tensions, particularly in the Middle East, Ukraine and Sudan, which caused thousands of victims.
For this year, a total of 286 candidates were validated for this year’s Peace Prize, including 197 individuals and 89 organizations.
As a reminder, the Nobel Peace Prize has been suspended 19 times since its launch, notably during the world wars. The last time it was not awarded was in 1972.
