This Sunday, May 5, 2024, a tragic accident occurred at the Albaredo per San Marco air sports center, near Lake Como in Italy. A 41-year-old woman who was ziplining, attached to a steel cable, above the forest, fell shortly before reaching the final destination, reports Il Gazzettino.

She then fell 50 meters into the forest. Emergency services and firefighters quickly intervened, but seriously injured, she died at the scene of the accident.

The cause is still unknown

The reasons for this accident are currently unknown. It is still difficult to explain how the seat belt could have come off. According to Italian media, she could have undone it herself, because she would have felt uncomfortable. The harness was not found with the victim.

The zip line would have stopped about thirty meters too soon before reaching the finish. That’s when she allegedly became frightened and removed her legs from the harness. She would therefore have slipped out of it.

The material analyzed

The material will be analyzed to determine if the harness presented a defect at some point during the tragedy or if the woman was improperly attached. His body will also be autopsied.
