It’s a list without surprises but with a few big names less. The withdrawal of Kylian Mbappé noted a few hours ago, and the international retirement of Antoine Griezmann a few days ago, the only real surprise in Didier Deschamps’ list for the Nations League matches against Israel (Thursday October 10) and Belgium (Monday October 14) is indeed the absence of N’Golo Kanté.
The Al-Ittihad midfielder, recalled before the Euro and last September for the start of the League of Nations, is not one of the midfielders called up by Deschamps, due to a health problem which appeared in the last hours before the list. Unlike Manu Koné, who had his first selection in September, is back. In attack, Christopher Nkunku returns to the French team for the first time since June 2023.
