Test BE-Alert on October 3, 2024: results

A major fire, a flood or a power outage? In the event of an emergency, we would like to notify you quickly. That’s why we tested BE-Alert today, a national alarm system that notifies you in the event of an emergency via text message, e-mail or telephone.

Test results on October 3

Today we sent a test message via text message to 2,328 residents registered on BE-Alert. 98% of these messages were received correctly. Moreover, this time we also tested location-based texting. This means that everyone present within a certain zone automatically received a text message, regardless of whether you are registered with a Brees address. We sent a total of 20,434 text messages this way, of which 97% were received correctly.

BE-Alert was also tested in many other municipalities today. Curious about the results? Take a look at www.crisiscentrum.be.

What is BE-Alert?

BE-Alert is an alarm system with which we can notify you in the event of an emergency. Thanks to BE-Alert, a mayor, governor or the Minister of the Interior can send a message to everyone affected by the emergency. This way, residents can quickly receive the necessary recommendations, such as closing windows and doors in the event of a fire.
