A 29-year-old man has just been indicted for attempted murder and fatal assault after the accident which cost the life of his father, Saturday September 21, 2024 in Armentières (North). On the day of the tragedy, the suspect allegedly hit two people while reversing his vehicle, recalls The Voice of the North . His father, a hairdresser who had been living in the Internet city for 17 years, died of his injuries in hospital.
Was this act intentional or purely accidental? This is the question that the investigators will try to answer. The collision took place in a context of great confusion, while a fight linked to a commercial dispute had broken out between the sixty-year-old trader and one of his new competitors.
The suspect was arrested in the intensive care room where his father was placed. His lawyer says the young man backed down “in panic and not to hit someone”. Already convicted of violence in 2017, the suspect was placed under judicial supervision. He is now banned from traveling to the North.
