A 15-year-old boy from Lake St. Martin First Nation, 270 km north of Winnipeg, has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with a shooting in the community earlier this week.

The teenager was arrested Thursday, the day after the discovery of the body of a 32-year-old woman in a home in the community of Entre-les-Lacs in Manitoba, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said in a press release Saturday.

He was taken into custody.

There RCMP continues its investigation. Police say this incident was not a random act.
