Animals

The Haute- SPA, 156 avenue du Général-René-Chambe in Couzeix, is organizing its open days on Saturday October 5 and Sunday October 6 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. In addition, clearance sale, stalls selling animal accessories, raffle, refreshment bar, Le Truck à John food truck (both days).

Horse riding

Saturday October 5 and Sunday October 6, the Montcontour Stables in Saint-Hilaire-de-Bonneval will host the French Iberian Masters Championship, an equestrian dressage competition reserved for Iberian horses. The best riders from the amateur or professional circuit will compete in events from young horse level to the grand prix. Musical performances, in traditional Spanish or Portuguese dress, are also on the program of the festivities. This event marks the final qualifying stage for the European Championships, which will take place at the end of October in Exloo, the Netherlands.

Health

The Renaissance Lion’s Club is organizing a free health operation on Saturday October 5 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Saint-Jean high school, 26, rue Eugène-Varlin in Limoges. The association will provide free screening for eye diseases by opticians and ophthalmologists, a complete hearing examination with a qualified audiologist, and diabetes screening by nurses and doctors. It will be possible to bring in old glasses for repair. In addition, members of the Sound Libraries (which provide free books and magazines recorded by voice donors to the visually impaired and some disabled) and the School of Guide Dogs for the Blind will be present. – As part of the Autumn Zébrures, the duo Fire & Smoke will be in concert on Friday October 4 at 8:30 p.m., in the exhibition hall of the Eymoutiers town hall. Theater

The Vivre avec en Limousin (VAL) association, which brings together volunteers supporting people at the end of their lives in hospitals and nursing homes by offering meetings, songs, stories and listening, is celebrating its thirtieth anniversary. Environment

Saturday October 5 at 10 a.m. in Saint-Priest-sous-Aixe, a place called Chez Roger, the Conservatory of Natural Spaces is organizing a maintenance project open to all of an aqueduct, two fisheries, a wash house, of sourdoughs. Mini cars

The Limousin Mini Racing Car is organizing the final of the Coupe de for 1/8th scale track cars on October 4, 5 and 6 on its Chauvan circuit in Saint-Priest-Taurion. This competition will bring together the sixty best French drivers who will compete all weekend in very high speed races. There will be two separate events since cars with thermal and electric engines will run. These small vehicles easily reach 120 km/hour thanks to very advanced technologies and efficient engines.

Around thirty volunteers are mobilized for the occasion. And as with every major national meeting, the LMRC will be supervised by a federal arbiter. The program:

– Friday: from 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., controlled tests.

– Saturday: 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., controlled tests; from 10 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., qualifying heats; from 5:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., free practice.

– Sunday: 8:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., repechage; at 2:45 p.m., thermal finale; at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 2:15 p.m., 3:20 p.m., electric finals.

Free entry, refreshment bar, catering.

Sport

Saturday October 5, the Pom’SY association is organizing its 5th Urban trail in Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche, with two courses, 5.5 and 11 km, and a 2 x 5.5 km relay; departure from Villa Sport at 6 p.m. Prices and details here. A prize of more than €500 offered to the best represented team (number of riders from the same team registered in the three races). Band entertainment on arrival, evening at the conference hall with grills, sausages, drinks, DJ French Antler.
