He did not win the stage, but Tadej Pogacar is undoubtedly the strongest favorite for the Tour of Italy. During the first stage run this Saturday between Venaria Reale and Turin, the Slovenian blew up almost everyone in a few hundred meters, on the last ramp of the day located 4 km from the finish. Only the Ecuadorian Jhonatan Narváez was able to take the wheel, with Maximilian Schachmann, placed in a group in front and who managed to hang on.

Launched at full speed towards the line, the trio competed for victory in a sprint, and in this little game it was Narváez who showed himself to be the strongest. The Ecuadorian from Ineos, already winner of a stage of the Giro in 2020, wears the first pink jersey of this edition.

Pogacar will recover.
