Starting with the inauguration of the road (leading from RD 10 to the IME) named after Joseph Desbrosse who was director of this institution from 1981 to 2024. Family members came to honor his memory, including Guillaume , one of his children, emotion in his voice and applause from the audience. The grandchildren, Nino, 13, and Nolan, 17, unveiled the plaque, the latter quoting his grandfather: “Reach out to others to share a common humanity together.”
In the presence of representatives of the Region, the Prefecture, the Department, the ARS and elected officials of the territory, the public witnessed the planting of a sequoia in the town hall park. After the exhibition and the parade of old cars, the reconstruction of yesteryear weddings in period costumes (or similar), with notes of humor in Charentais patois, were celebrated. And a climbing wall has been installed to allow everyone to climb peaks.
All underlined the usefulness of a structure such as Apec, whose important role in Charente attempts to respond to the difficulties of families who are looking for a place for their loved ones, children or adults, in a specialized establishment.
The evening concluded with a Tahitian dance show, before a big dinner in the village hall.
