4 departments located in eastern France have been placed on yellow alert for “rain-flooding” by Météo-France for the day of Wednesday October 2. This follows the arrival of “a new episode of heavy rain in the Northern Alps and Franche-Comté”.
Increased attention is required. Météo-France has placed 4 departments in eastern France on yellow alert for “rain-flooding” for the day of Wednesday October 2.
This alert concerns Haute-Savoie, Savoie, Hautes-Alpes and Isère.
Météo-France reported that a “rainy disturbance affects the center-east of the country until Wednesday morning, particularly from the Northern Alps to Franche-Comté”.
“In this last area, the expected rainfall accumulations justify yellow rain-flood vigilance. However, it is important to keep informed of developments in the situation,” added the meteorological service.
Météo-France also considers that “given the state of saturation of the soil, it is not excluded that very localized phenomena (such as mudslides for example) may appear in the Alpine departments.”
