National Women’s Centers Day

National Women’s Centers Day
National Women’s Centers Day

For 22 years, the first Tuesday of October has been the National Day of Quebec Women’s Centers and this year, it takes place on Tuesday, October 1st.

For the occasion, 82 centers across Quebec, which are part of the l’R group of women’s centers in Quebec, are opening their doors to women and planning activities.

The 92.5 my radio from here joined the Center de femmes Mieux-Être de Jonquière in order to have more information on this day. A center speaker, Katia Gagnon, describes to us what is planned for the evening.

If you don’t know the definition of intersectionality, Ms. Gagnon gives us a clear definition.

The theme of this 22nd day of women’s centers is “women’s centers there for all women” and Katia Gagnon explains to us what that consists of.

The day focuses more on prevention, on action and to raise awareness of women’s centers on a larger scale.

For those interested, it is unfortunately too late to register for this evening’s activity since the registration period ended last Friday, but you can still contact the Center de femmes Mieux-Être de Jonquière at 418- 547-3763 or the Center de femmes du Pays de Maria-Chapdelaine de Dolbeau-Mistassini at 418 276-8585.
