The youngest member of the National Assembly, Flavien Termet (National Rally), elected deputy for the first time during the legislative elections last June and July, announced his resignation in a press release published on September 30. Invoking “personal, medical reasons“, he indicates that his party “will present a candidate in the upcoming election” caused by his resignation.
“It is with a heavy heart that I announce today my resignation from the mandate of deputy from 1era Ardennes constituency“. In accordance with article LO178 of the electoral code, a partial legislative election will take place “within three months“in order to fill the seat left vacant by the resigning deputy in the 1era constituency of the Ardennes.
Flavien Temet indicates that the National Rally will present a candidate to succeed him in the upcoming election. The former deputy of the constituency, Lionel Vuibertwho sat within the group Renaissance during the previous legislature, has already announced his candidacy, while the socialist Damien Lerouge expressed his desire to run as a candidate under the banner of New Popular Front.
