The motorcyclist categorized as an absolute emergency

Intervening on site, the Essonne firefighters took charge of the motorcycle driver as well as a driver of the light vehicle. The latter was categorized into « urgence relative ».

Conversely, the biker was seriously injured by the collision. He was transported by helicopter in “absolute emergency” to the Kremlin-Bicêtre hospital center (Val-de-Marne).

The traffic was cut off in both directions during the intervention which mobilized eight firefighters.

More accidents and injuries on the roads in 2024 than in 2023

According to data published by the Essonne prefecture, accident indicators are increasing this year compared to 2023.

Between January 1 and August 1, 2024, bodily injury accidents increased by 7% (794 compared to 742 in 2023 and 772 in 2022) and the number of injured people increased by 3% (1024 compared to 991 in 2023 and 996 in 2022).

On the other hand, the number of people killed on the roads this year (14) is decreasing compared to 2023 (17) and 2022 (26).
