Rochefort: 1
Bressuire: 4

Bressuire presented himself as co-leader of the championship this Tuesday April 30 in Rochefort and he behaved as such. As RFC coach Martial Mikelbrencis said after the match: “There was no photo. Bressuire gave us a football lesson in the first half”.

For half an hour, Rochefort created an illusion. The match was balanced, with the teams going blow for blow without any real clear chances on either side. Until 29e minute where everything changed: three goals in five minutes for FC Bressuire by Charif (29e), Robert (32e) and Epagna (34e). It’s difficult to claim fatigue at this point in the match.

A 40 meter goal

At half-time the Bressuirais led three goals to zero and this lead was not scandalous. In addition to a well-established game, a more than adequate physical condition if we consider that we are playing the last matches of the season, Bressuire recited his football. Rochefort made it easier for his opponents by making a few mistakes for which they paid cash.

Two minutes after the restart, it was on an incident of play (the ball hit the hand of a Bressuire defender) that the referee gave the Rochefortais the opportunity to reduce the score by whistling a penalty, converted by Anthony De Oliviera Maia.

The hope of a comeback was short-lived since 10 minutes later, almost forty meters from the goals, Leray received a pass from his defense. A glance around and he unleashes a beautiful shot which lobs Robin, the Rochefort goalkeeper who had moved forward to cover his defenders, and thus worsens the score for his team in a very nice way.

At playing time, mass was said. The leader had control and would not give in until the end of the match. The Rochefortais tried to improve the mark, but the sterility observed over the last few weekends was confirmed. The score of four goals to one will remain unchanged until the end of the match.

Patrick Olive (FC Bressuire coach): “We are satisfied because we are masters of our destiny. We did what we had to in the first half. When Rochefort scored, we had three minutes of hesitation where they could have come back to 3-2, and after that, anything can happen. But the team remained united and we preserved the score. Our goal was to win the match. A draw would have been enough for us to preserve our leadership position, but that is not our nature and once again, we wanted to remain masters of our destiny. So, we are very satisfied with our evening. »
