More than 130 activists and supporters of the CGT, FSU and Solidaires unions marched through the streets of , this , May 1, 2024, to denounce the living and working conditions of the French.

There were 80 of them gathered in front of the Eure-et-Loir prefecture, in Chartres, this Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., during International Workers’ Day. The organizers, the inter-union CGT, FSU and Solidaires, waited before deciding on a parade in the streets of Chartres scheduled for 11 a.m.

“If there are not many of us to make a procession in the city center, we will go directly to Place Châtelet for the barbecue,” warned Christine Senechaux-Buisson, one of the union representatives who was observing the gray sky.

But there were ultimately more than 130 before departure. Before setting off with demonstrators carrying banners with slogans and equipped with megaphones, Christine Senechaux-Buisson mentioned the reasons for the demands: “We denounce the precariousness which affects both the public and the private, but also the poor conditions of work, lack of staff, low salaries, increasing privatization, budget restrictions… The list goes on.”
