Like every time for the 1er May, on the occasion of Labor Day, the start of the inter-union demonstration takes place from a district of the city of Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine). This year, the demonstrators met around 10:30 a.m. in Cleunay.
Many unions represented
After a few speeches, at Place Saint-Guénolé, on the deterioration of working conditions, particularly in the field of care, the demonstrators continued their march. In the procession, which exceeds a thousand people, 1,400 according to the prefecture, many unions are represented (CGT, FO, FSU) but also political and association activists. “The double demonstration with that of the afternoon is not favorable to the attendance this morning”underlines an activist accustomed to the gathering of 1er May.
As a reminder, last year, in the context of mobilization against pension reform, more than 10,000 people marched in the Maurepas district, in the north of the city. In the afternoon, the attendance was identical.
