Murder of Matisse in Châteauroux: the teenager’s father calls for “not to go into hatred or violence”

The father of Matisse, the teenager who died after being stabbed several times in Châteauroux on Saturday April 27, spoke at the microphone of RTL and of France 3.

Two days after the death of Matisse, a 16-year-old teenager who succumbed to his injuries on Saturday April 27 following the stab wounds he received during a brawl involving another minor, emotions are running high in Châteauroux

In this new case of violence among minors, a 15-year-old teenager was indicted Monday evening for “murder” and placed in pre-trial detention, while his mother, aged 37, was indicted for “intentional violence” on “vulnerable person”. The latter is accused of having “slapped the victim” injured, said the Bourges public prosecutor.

The teenager and his mother are both Afghan nationals and legally resident on French soil. The brawl had not “nothing to do with Islamism, there is no religious character”, assured a Source close to the investigation. The fact that the minor is of Afghan nationality has nevertheless led several figures from the right and the extreme right to denounce the “migratory policy” of the government.

“Let’s not mix everything up”

At the microphone of RTLMatisse’s father, Christophe Marchais, said he was touched by the expressions of sympathy shown by the inhabitants of Châteauroux who decorated the door of his restaurant with bouquets of roses. “It shows us that many people support us and loved Matisse”confides the bereaved father.

Before warning: “Let’s not mix everything up. Pay attention to all the right-wing parties or elsewhere who appropriate this kind of thing”.

Christophe Marchais also called on France 3 has “do not go into hatred or violence”. “I don’t want people to step up – we know who’s going to do it – because [le mis en examen]it was an Afghan”says the father. “I don’t want anyone to take ownership of Matou’s death, from any side whatsoever. He loved everyone, I want everyone to be like that.”

A white march Saturday May 4

The mayor of Châteauroux, Gil Avérous, indicated that a white march in tribute to the young Matisse will be organized on Saturday May 4 in the afternoon, in the town center of the town.

This walk should “pass in front of the establishments that mattered to Matisse: his school, his house, his parents’ restaurant and the one in which he worked”.

Matisse’s death comes after several incidents of violence between young people, such as the fatal beating in Viry-Châtillon of Shemseddine, 15, near his college.
