SEASON 2023 – 202405:00, May 1, 2024

Olivier Delacroix goes to meet Jean-Luc. The life of this father was turned upside down on January 9, 2015, during the terrorist attack in the Hypercacher de la Porte de Vincennes. He agreed to tell his story in this episode of the podcast “Dans les yeux d’Olivier” produced by Europe 1 Studio. Jean-Luc had been a warehouse worker for 6 months in the hyper-cacher supermarket at Porte de Vincennes when, at 1:45 p.m., shots rang out within the store. Jean-Luc then takes refuge at the back of the building and remains on the ground for several minutes. The assailant is Amedy Coulibaly, an accomplice of the Kouachi brothers responsible for the Charlie Hebdo shootings two days earlier. After long minutes of killing, the terrorist takes the survivors hostage. And he designates Jean-Luc to demand that he render him several services. For four hours, the 17 hostages, including Jean-Luc, were terrified and witnessed several horror scenes. The police decide to act and launch the assault. The terrorist is shot dead by the police and the hostages are finally freed. Today, Jean-Luc must face what he experienced. Since the attack, the father has suffered from anxiety, hearing and concentration problems. To try to cope with this trauma, Jean-Luc takes Krav-Maga lessons (a combat method that emphasizes self-defense techniques). To feel more secure, Jean-Luc’s son, also of Jewish faith, decided to leave France. But for Jean-Luc, very familiar with his country, this option is not possible.
