Six matches of the antepenultimate day of Betclic Elite took place this Tuesday, and Blois, by winning in Nanterre under the eyes of Victor Wembanyama, regained hope for maintenance, especially as its rivals Gravelines-Dunkerque and Roanne lost.

In eleven days, the Betclic Elite regular season will deliver its verdict, but the six matches of the 32nd day played this Tuesday did not make it possible to know a qualifier for the play-offs or an additional relegated. Following today’s results, Monaco, Paris, ASVEL, Bourg-en-Bresse, Nanterre and Le Portel are guaranteed to compete in the quarter-finals, while the last two tickets will be played between Saint-Quentin, Strasbourg, Nancy, Cholet, Limoges, Le Mans, Dijon and Chalon. Suffice to say that the last two days will be rich in suspense. At the bottom of the table, Boulogne-Levallois is already relegated, and will be accompanied by two teams, which will be Blois, Roanne or Gravelines-Dunkerque. While a defeat would have officially sent him to Pro B, Blois pulled away to win 103-106 in Nanterre, under the eyes of Victor Wembanyama, who came to support his training club 92. While the Ile-de-France residents had a 17-point lead in the first quarter, they saw the Blésois equalize before half-time (48-48) then trail by six points at the start of the last quarter (83-77) before achieve a huge end to the match to win by three points. Armel Traoré, who played with Wemby last year for the Mets, scored 23 points for Blois, while Justin Bibbins scored 25 for Nanterre.

Roanne will need a miracle

ADA now has the same record (10v-22d) as Roanne, beaten 84-79 in Nancy. La Chorale also missed its start to the match (9-0) then trailed by seven points at the break (44-37) before going ahead in the third quarter (56-57), but SLUC finished strong, in the wake of a double-double Shevon Thompson (18pts, 13rbds). Sekou Doumbouya scored 28 points for Roanne, who will absolutely have to win in Paris on Saturday to still believe in maintaining. Impossible mission ? Gravelines-Dunkerque, for its part, has one more precious victory than Blois and Roanne, and that could make the difference. This Tuesday, the BCM was logically beaten by Bourg-en-Bresse (64-75). The JL took a twelve-point lead in the second quarter, then twelve at the start of the last, and managed the end of the match well (15 points for Isiaha Mike on the JL side and for Johnny Berhanemeskel on the BCM side).

And 23 for Paris

At the top of the table, Paris secured second place at the end of the regular season by winning 73-84 at Chalon, who had won their place last week. The Parisians had an excellent first quarter (17-27), then managed the rest of the match well, with Elan never falling below a six-point gap. This is the 23rd victory in a row for the capital club. TJ Shorts scored 24 points and Antoine Eito 18. Building on its victory in the Coupe de France on Saturday, Dijon (13th) won 79-88 at Cholet (10th), which suffered its fourth defeat in a row despite Erik Stevenson at 16 points. The JDA of Allan Dokossi (23pts, 11rbds) notably took a fourteen point lead before half-time (31-45) then widened the gap in the third quarter before managing in the last and retaining its (small ) chances of play-offs. Finally, Strasbourg clings to its eighth place by winning 85-107 at Boulogne-Levallois in a one-sided match where Léo Cavalière scored 19 points (18pts for Fabian White on the Mets side).
