The department is also on yellow alert for floods. According to the meteorological institute, “the showers and the disturbed weather are evacuated via the French eastern borders”. Consequently, “a few residual showers linger throughout the day over the Massif Central and the Pyrenees”. Thus, the Pyrénées-Orientales departments are affected by potentially sustained and sometimes stormy rains.

Beautiful clearings forecast for the rest of the country

In addition to residual showers, the meteorological institute specifies, however, that the Alps and the Pyrenees could be affected by “snowfall from 1,800 meters above sea level”.

“During the afternoon, showers remain more frequent on the terrain. They gradually diminish in the plains to give way to nice clearings,” added Météo-France.

For the rest of the territory, still according to Météo-France, “anticyclonic conditions, synonymous with dry and sunnier weather, are setting in from the west”, adding that “the improvement gains from the morning with beautiful sunny periods and some cloudy periods, very locally a small shower.
