Bright images like in the cinema
The LG HU70LS video projector comes in the form of a large white rectangular block, quite versatile and discreet. If its design isn’t its best asset, the technologies and the detailed, bright images it offers certainly are. This model firstly features a 4Channel LED lamp made up of 3 RGB LEDs to which is added a fourth “dynamic green” diode, which optimizes contrasts and increases the brightness of the images. Add to this the brightness of 1,500 lumens which is quite satisfactory.
The LG HU70LS is also capable of broadcasting images in 4K UHD (3,840 x 2,160 pixels) up to 140 inches, a large display area that will give us (almost) the impression of being installed in front of a screen cinema… but without leaving home. The refresh rate can go up to 60 Hz, thanks to TruMotion technology, which improves the fluidity of moving images and limits any jerking phenomena. And to make matters worse, the video projector is compatible with HDR10, which extends the brightness range and offers more detailed and contrasting images both in dark areas and in light areas of the content viewed.
Always crisp content
A good video projector would not be sufficiently complete without its battery of features designed to make images sharp. The LG HU70LS thus has an optical zoom which allows you to easily enlarge the image without moving the video projector or altering the quality of the image, or even a motorized focusing system, which is responsible for adjusting the focusing with the remote control very quickly. Note also the presence of trapezoidal distortion correction, manual or automatic, which is used to display well-aligned and always straight images.
In addition, LG obliges, the video projector integrates the brand’s OS, webOS, which gives access to a host of applications, like the flagship streaming platforms. You only need a Wi-Fi connection to navigate there. Finally, regarding its connectivity, it is made up of a USB-C port, two USB-A ports, an RJ45 Ethernet port, two HDMI ports (not 2.1, too bad), a 3.5 audio output mm and an S/PDIF output. The latter will also allow you to connect a soundbar or an external speaker to the video projector, and this addition will not be too much, given that the speakers of only 3 W each found in the LG HU70LS don’t promise crazy sound…
