German Nico Hülkenberg says he is “impatient” to start a new chapter in his career with the manufacturer Audi, whose factory team will debut in competition during the 2026 Formula 1 season.

The rumor that has been circulating for several weeks in the F1 paddock was confirmed this Friday, April 26: German Nico Hülkenberg will leave the Haas team at the end of 2024 to join Audi with whom he signed a several-year contract. As part of this contract, the German will drive for Sauber from 2025 and will support the transformation to the Audi factory team whose official arrival is scheduled for 2026.

Speaking after the official announcement, Nico Hülkenberg said he was very honored to return to the Sauber team for which he had already driven in the past, but above all said he was extremely impatient to become more involved in the Audi project.
