Match: Luis Enrique after Reims/PSG (1-1): “I am very happy with Désiré Doué”

After his team’s difficult draw in (1-1), Parisian coach Luis Enrique did not try to hide the fact that his team had been very embarrassed by their opponents. But the coach praised Désiré Doué’s good debut in the starting eleven.

How do you feel after your team’s first draw this season?

“What a shame (he smiles). From the beginning of the match, we knew that it would be a very difficult game. They played very well, they are physically very strong, they were also good with the ball. This match started with this somewhat lucky goal in their favor. There is not much else to say, we have to continue and move forward.”

It was difficult to find spaces for your team inside the game and we finally saw Neves cross on Dembélé’s goal, did you ask the players to change?

“We change positions all the time. When you play against a good team like Reims, they have all eleven players behind the ball, very close to the penalty area, it’s always difficult. You have to be careful with all that and, in the first half, we sometimes didn’t really have the patience to find space. But I have to say that we fought until the end. One point, and we continue our journey.”

Dembélé scores regularly, again today just after coming on, is he the boss of the PSG attack this season?

“We are not looking for a boss or a leader. The leader is the team! We ask the players to give more because when you have the mentality of being a leader, it is because you think you are special. But each one of them must be special and fight for the club, for the fans. That is the key.”

What did you think of Désiré Doué’s match tonight?

“For me, he played well, he adapts to the style of our team but he is a very talented player. He is also very young, with a lot of desire and I am very happy with Désiré Doué.”
